Description: Meet Joey. Joey is one of our "Strollin' Seniors" and is a long term foster. He has been in his current foster home for two years now. Joey is a very loving dog, but because of his past, he has some problems with separation anxiety. His very dedicated foster parents keep him on a very predictable and consistent schedule, which he needs in order to feel secure.
Joey is housebroken in his foster home, but will mark when put into new, stressful situations. Joey has some arthritis, but this is easily managed by his morning massages that his foster mom gives him (lucky dog!) Joey likes to snuggle on the couch, but needs help getting up there and he likes to go on short, easy walks. Joey would do fine as an only dog if someone were home with him all the time, but he does not like to be alone, so a doggie friend is a bonus. He doesn't really play much, but would enjoy the company of perhaps another senior dog.
Joey likes kids, and even has a chicken friend in his foster home. That's right, a real live chicken is his pal. Sometimes, friendship comes in unexpected packages. Joey is a sweet, loving old man, and would be a wonderful family member for the right home. Please contact us if you are interested in meeting this sweet guy. |
| New Beginning: Joey has finally convinced his foster mom that she should be his forever mom! Joey is officially part of the family now, and they can't imagine life any other way! Congrats, Joey! We're thrilled you found your forever family! You knew it all along, just had to make your mom believe it. ;) |
